Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) have rapidly transformed the landscape of life sciences and biomedical research, offering unprecedented opportunities for discovery, diagnosis, and treatment. These technologies enable the analysis of vast and complex biological datasets, accelerating insights into genomics, proteomics, and drug discovery. In medical practice, AI-driven algorithms support early disease detection, predictive modeling, personalized treatment planning, and improved patient care. In research, ML facilitates the integration of heterogeneous data sources, including imaging, electronic health records, and molecular data, to reveal novel patterns and correlations that were previously unattainable through traditional methods. Despite their immense potential, the application of AI/ML also faces challenges related to data quality, interpretability, ethical concerns, and equitable access. This paper explores the emerging applications of AI and ML across various domains of the life sciences, highlighting both the transformative benefits and the challenges ahead. By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and ensuring responsible innovation, AI/ML can help reshape the future of biomedical research and healthcare systems worldwide.
